Just swapped a 454 into my 73 c10, the guy i bought it from tossed a pair of hedman mid-length headers with it that he had on this motor when we pulled it from his 81 c10 and the don't fit great at all. Passenger side is up against my mini-starter and drivers side is sitting on the clam shell. Sure I could put a few dings in them but they already have a few love taps to clear on the drivers side as it is. at what point will I start sacrificing airflow with dents lol. Good news though, motor fired right up 60psi oil pressure and no bad noises, just the satisfying rumble that pounds through your whole body when you fire up a 500 horse big block with open headers ❤️

What headers have you guys ran?

Specs: 73 c10, mechanical 4spd, 454, stock mounts, stock suspension (eventually going with 3/5 drop)

I tried Hedman. Never again.

I have ran Hooker headers since getting frustrated with Hedman and their no-customer-support-customer-support.

I have a 73 GMC C20, w/454. Summit headers (SUM G9011) dropped right in, no rubbing, no modification needed.

I've got Doug Thorley's on my '91 Crew with the 454.  They fit just fine.

I run Hooker Headers super compitition headers as I remember them called and had them coated by a place called Caps coatings.

This was when the drive train was a T 400 and a NP205, am hoping the SM465 and or NV4500 I'm installing soon will fit just as well.

I also installed the BBC / 454 frame mounts in place of the 6.2L Diesel frame mounts, not really sure how much of a difference those mount change makes.  Also used the polyurethane in the clamshell motor mounts and the factory engine mount.

Not to go overboard but I also had a plating shop nickel plate the clamshells as I detest rust.
Will update this post with the 4 digit hooked headers part number if possible.
