!982 Chevy C-10 Lowering questions

Ok guys, I need some advice.  I have a 1982 Chevy Shortwide C10 with a 350.  I have purchased the DJM upper and Lower control arms and the 6" flip Kit from bell tech.  I also purchased the CPP big brake kit installing all new 13" disk brakes all around.  Ok here is the question,  The CCP BBK came with new spindles what I didn't know is those spindles have a 2 1/2" drop in them.  Can I still use the upper and lower control arms from DJM  Because they have the deep spring pocket built in giving them a 3" drop.  I am wanting a 4 to 5" drop in the front and a 6" drop in the back.  I am also wanting to run 20x10,  285x50x20 in the front and back.  Will i have any road clearance issues if i go with a rim and tire this tall.  also will i have any problems alining the front end?

Can I run DJM lowers with a 2.5" drop spindle?

It is not good practice to run a dropped arm and a dropped spindle at the same time.

The bottom of the factory arms get pretty close to the ground with spindles.  Mine are a bit over 3" off the ground at the lowest.  Dropped control arms lower the spring pocket even further - this could be dangerous on the street; don't do it.

You wont like 285 all the way around. Its going to pull hard at every notch in the road. a 50 series tires is most likely going to rub if you have tire wells still.  If you want 4 in the front go with either the spindle and a 3/4 ton spring with one coil cut or the control arms.

Thanks for all the advice. Returning the lowers, next question can you mix lower and upper control arm manufacturers?  Like DJM uppers and CPP LOWERS?

I wouldn't suggest it. Its like using lowering springs from two different companies, too many variables, fitment issue ect. What do you plan on doing now?

I have two options keep the DJM upper tubular control arm and buy a stock lower control arm, send both upper and lower control arms back and go with a different manufacturer, Like CPP. Only thing is they are way more expensive!$$$$

Honestly, I would go with CPP modular spindle with a 3/4 ton factory spring, cut one coil. it will give you a 4-4.5 inch drop in front. Less work, and the ride is really good. Dont stick with factory 1/2 ton springs they are too spongey and will not give a good ride.
