Rear slider Weatherstripping
« on: March 13, 2008, 11:07:54 am »
I have the GM rear slider that I need to install.  I was told that the rubber seal for the original sliding window is no longer available.  Has anyone replaced their single piece glass with a slider and what gasket did you use?  Thanks

Jeff

No Longer Available through GM Yes, but should be available through any well stocked Auto Glass Shop(Speedy Auto Glass/Safelite/ETC)....

No...already checked local dealers, they say no also. :'(

Well, to be honest I only called safetyglass and banner glass - I'll keep checking.

are you talking about the gasket for the complete glass?  It is the same if it is a GM slider.

Yes.  IF it is a GM supplied slider.  I removed my Slider that came on my 87 and replaced it with the same gasket.  If the current one has a small area that a glass will go into you are set to get just a regular glass gasket.  Got a pic?

It's thin like the glass that came out, just get a regular gasket.
