shaved door kit help

Okay, so I bought a shaved door kit off eBay and even though I can't do the bodywork for it I still want to install the solenoids and wiring myself.  Where's the best place to put the solenoid?  It appears that the latch pulls sideways and I wanted to have a straight pull but the glass is in the way.  There is also a little bit of hard tubing stuff which seems to be the right size to fit around the cable. Do I use that to redirect the pull somehow?  Also, I don't have power windows/locks so will I just have to drill a hole in the door for the wiring?

There are several places to mount it.  When I had them I mounted mine in the open area of the door post and had it pull the same lever as the original handle.
With a pulley/wheel, you could mount it anywhere you wanted to.  There is a thread on this topic on the forum in progress by 2502 and Blitzer!

The wiring and solenoids on mine are mounted behind the seat. Just remember to always leave a vent window unlocked in case the system fails or the batter goes dead or you'll lock yourself out. lol

Or to prevent lock-out, I've relocated my battery to the chassis under the passenger side. Just made a bracket and bolted it on, extend the wires and away you go never a flat battery. And install a 911 cable. Its a pull cable that pops the door from the "outside" wherever you locate it. Hope that makes sense!!

You can also mount battery connects somewhere on the truck and get a boost from it.  Still need a way to get power, but at least you could get in.
