My '86 Project

I am new here and thought I would share my project. I have been working on it for quite a while because I just don't have the amount of free time I would like to work on it, but I am nearing the home stretch now. Hope you like it.

Got any pics of the firewall?  What did you do about the steering column/shaft?

Firewall is untouched. I haven't put my steering shaft back in yet. I know that I will at least have to make a small notch in the upper control arm for clearance. I hope that I don't have to add any joints in the shaft but time will tell.

I love what you did to the tailgate.  That is the kind of thought and work that is missing these days from customizing shops that are all about bolt-on items, etc.  Most people (myself included) would not have attempted something like that just because of the amount of work both in welding and sanding/prepwork for painting.  Can't wait to see more pics.

Half way through that tailgate I was wondering why I did it myself. I haven't gotten it sanded yet, just roughed in. I have been avoiding it because the space is sooooo small. Don't even get me started on the time it took to do the fender. And on top of that when I was priming the fender it fell of the sawhorses and took some damage. That was a sad day. I am not as worried about tackling the passenger side because I have a better game plan now.

UH!  I planned that fender mod for one of mine.  Oh well...
nice touch on the tailgate, that is some serious commitment!
If you z'd the frame more than 2" (which would be silly), you will need joints.

My Z is 2" so hopefully just a little notch in the upper arm.
