Good stuff for Christmas?
« on: December 26, 2008, 08:22:01 am »
Its not finished yet but when it is I will post pics. My sister is making me the best present I have ever got. She got thick cloth material that is printed like the American flag. about 3'x5' Used blue fabric, and quilting baton to quilt it and trim the edge in blue. Quilting all the stars, and stripes. She had pictures of my dad in his Navy uniform, my grand mother, and her brother my great uncle Harold in their army uniforms, her other brother my great uncle Charlie in his air force pilot uniform, and the picture I posted earlier this week of my nephew in his army fatigues all printed on cloth. She is stitching them onto it. I told her to put four loops on the back so I can hang it on the wall.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

I'd rather pitch horseshoes than bags of corn. At least when you clang em together they make a noise. :D

Thats a pretty neat game. Here we play horseshoes or washers. Building the boxes for the Corn hole game would interfere with beer time.

Yeah, well, keep in mind that stray horse shoes hurt a lot more after someone throws them who has had a few six-packs.  Bags of corn-you could just blow off.

Good point, but some o these guys actually play better after a 6 pack. I only play sober (dont drink at all ) and still have a stray shoe every once in a while.

um wow  :-\ lol
this ain't about corn holing or anything but it had to do with my Christmas gift to my wife, i went on-line shopping at work and knew what size to get so i bought size large. mind you i was a last minute shopper and waited till the 23 to buy the shirts and earrings paid 100 bucks to have it shipped via air mail so i order the large and waited by the door like a lil school boy waiting for Christmas to come ups came by at 1300 est. no package for me so i waited and waited and finally at 1630 ups came back with my gift. i opened the jacket and was like wow WTH this is supposed to fit her didn't think nothing of it. i went to my moms to get her to wrap the gifts and as i opened the rest of the shirts all of them were about the same size only big enough maybe to fit a 9th grader. i was shocked & disturbed. i went home with my tail between my legs and knew i was going to catch heck for not having a Christmas gift for her so i told her about my problem and apologized and screwed up and mentioned i bought myself some boots and a camo western hat man was i dumb lol. after hearing about that she finally shut up when we went to mass. its always been a tradition when i was a kid to open one gift after mass if we were good. but lucky i had a back up plan before i went on-line shopping i bought a picture frame to fit 2 4x6 pictures in to was a flat black frame so i took pic's from our wedding and turned them black and white one is a tree we carved out names into when we meet 7 years ago and the other was us standing under a Mimosa tree all dressed up. so i gave those to her saved my butt. as we laid down for the night she said so i guess your not the @$%^ i thought you were.
need less to say i spent 414.00 on-line between my 150 for my boots and hat and her stuff shipping included vs a $5 picture frame with a couple pictures in it. needless to say the pictures won that battle. now i know what to do next year

I'm not much of a corn holer. Around here we pitch shoes or washers. Washers, bean bags, or corn sacks are all on the same principal.

I got one of these because my last one died. Most useful gift I got.

My wife got jewelry, my son got a tool box, I got a rock. (-Charlie Brown)

Actually, I got one of the best presents out there, watching my 4 yr old son ( www.AndrewDelbridge.com ) sitting near the xmas tree opening his gifts santa brought him and enjoying every minute of it.   ;D
