Hello from Mass.

Hello,
Ive been looking around on your site for awhile getting ideas for my truck. It's a 81 Chevy stepside with a 8'bed. It has a SB 400 with TPI along with a 12" Superlift suspension with 44" Super Swamper tires.
My plans are to remove the lift kit/tires and install a 4"lift with 33"tires. Once it is lowered to a reasonable height I will use it for my daily driver/tow vehicle.
Thanks in advance for any advice I receive along the way.
Fitz.

I wouldn't change it but if it is going to be your daily driver I can understand.

The wheels are 15" x 14" and the tires are 44 x 16.5 x 15. It runs a 8 lug dually rear and a 10 bolt 6 lug front. The truck was never 4 wheeled with the 44's. It wasn't driven much with this set up so the 10 bolt held up.

Very nice truck. Where in Mass are you from? If you plan to drive it I would lower it a bit too and run 35"s I think anything over 6" on the street just gets useless especially in New England.

Thanks everyone for the welcome,
I'm from Halifax Ma. (South Shore). I'm thinking of a 4" lift with 33" tires but I do have a set of 35" BFG's on American Racing slotted aluminums I might try once the 4" lift is installed. I just don't want to run the risk of 35"s catching the front fender lip. I have a brand new Rancho 4" lift so it should clear, but those fenders were new from G.M. when the truck was restored and I don't want to dent them.
The 44"s are just too big to be driving on a daily basis.

Hey Fitz, great lookin truck. I have the stock version of your truck. Did you build it or buy it as is? Is there a fuel cell between the rail or was the tank relocated to the other side?

Welcome from the north, New Hampshaa. I would leave it the way it is except install a Dana 60 up front. Get a smaller truck for you daily driver I say. But I am sucker for taller is better, even if it does affect driveability. Gotta have the cool factor!
You wouldn't hapen to know a guy name Karl Vezie would you?
