DOOR JAMB WIRING GROMMETS NEEDED!
« on: December 28, 2008, 10:10:24 pm »
I NEED A SET OF DOOR JAMB GROMMETS FOR MY 78 SILVERADO. I AM INSTALLING SPEAKERS IN MY DOORS AND I WOULD LIKE TO USE CORRECT GM GROMMETS TOO RUN THE WIRING. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT AND INSTALLATION TIPS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

THANKS,
kfoz

Well GM actually used rubber sleeves whenever they ran wiring through our doors, but the grommets that they used in other areas of the body, should still be available through your local Dealership... Just ask for whatever size you want, but the Secret most don't know, is that the sheetmetal grommets can be found at your Local Larger well stocked Hardware Store(Lowes/Home Depot/Etc)....  A single grommet bought at the Hardware Store, will generally be not even half the price of what the Stealerships will charge you.....

If you are really set on the High Mark Up of a "OEM" Grommet that isn't available at your Stealership. then I would check with Year One/Etc (Chris might have some of the affordable ones though) .....

Thanks again,

The GM term for the is "conduit" and they were 60.00$ from GM ten yrs ago (they came with two medal flanges). might still be in the book, if you need the part No. I can look it up in my receipts....

Check with GM for a 88-91 R/V Truck.  I can check for you.  I can probably get it if they have it, but it will be next week until I can let you know.
