Looks good.

Your new intake is too big, you should be running a dual plane high-rise and your thermostat is too cold.
160 causes much more engine wear than a 180.

My two cents.

Nice truck though.

eeh i know the intake deal but i couldnt pass it up as cheap as i got it.
and as far as the t-stat the truck normally is around 160 on cruise and 180 to 190 in town.

thanks jason for the comment

well i have to say this.
i hate it when im proved wrong.
took the truck to the track this firiday only to be dissapointed, BAD...
the truck ran the exact same time as it did before! no faster no slower. 10.0 @ 74mph.
but in the burnout box it felt like a demon where as before i had to coax it to do a burn out.
i think i know where the problem is.
Its going to be either the intake ( before mentioned to large ), or i need a bigger stall.
my trans is going to the shop this week to get rid of the 4800 rpm shift out and have it raised to 5500.
but i dont know where else to turn.
my cousin built a similar motor in a short bed with same gearing and tire size that ran in the LOW 8's!
im about to get very frustrated.

Make no mistake, dual plane manifolds are a crutch.  In an ideal world all performance carbureted manifolds would be single plane.  But the problem is many carbs out there do not provide adequate atomization with the lower vacuum signal of the single plane.  Also, if the cylinder heads feature intake ports with too low velocity for the intended application the problem worsens.  But where carb atomization is adequate and intake port velocity is high, single planes will always be the better choice in performance applications.  But if you plan to keep your current carb and it proves itself to be inadequate, in terms of atomization, then yes a good high rise dual plane may be in order.

Also, this being a completely new combination, your problems are likely stacked.  My approach would be to make one change at a time.  For example, your new engine my need higher shift points now to take advantage of the power increase in the upper rpm range, so that's great start.  Also, your stall speed may be too low for the cam.

Please keep us posted on the results as you experiment.

yea kinda did.
turns out with the new setup it didnt like that dual snorkel hat.
so i switched to a 14 x 5 K&N setup.
well heres some pics of the new intake.
Driveability issues have been %80 solved. still need a bit more converter.
and there's a bit of a timing issue im trying to solve.
im showing 39 degrees advance at idle for the truck to run good.
im thinking the newer harmonic balancer's had the timing marks in a different spot.
anyway enjoy.
