Have you seen this post?
http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php?topic=10531.0

This is where everything I have comes from and it is all drop shipped from those listed.  (there is no "they", it is just me)
Since you are in GA, you can order the parts from me and pick them up at Goodmark (for sheetmetal).

Its not really the fact that you stepped on anybodies toes. The truth is that this site is most likely supported financially by the parts that are sold. I am sure some of the money come from member subscriptions, but being part of a motorcycle accessories site store, can tell you that not much is made from member subscriptions. By buying the parts here that is available, it helps keeps everything available to us. This site doesnt have any advertisements that pop up in the middle of the screen and tries to sell you life insurance. If it did, it would really suck. I visit a site every so often that does this, it is crap and very irritating. Take all the information here that is exchanged daily, and compare that to the amount of books you would have to buy to come close to the same, it would cost a fortune. Only costs here if you want to sell something. The products here are competetivly priced, and though you may find some parts cheaper elsewhere, you wont find information, nor the knowledge it requires to get the right parts. Capt has used most of these parts, and if there is something you have to do differently or something he doesnt like about them, he will tell you straight up. The rest dont have a clue, and just sell you what the catalog infront of them says you need. Call one of the other places and ask them what it would take to put a 75 tailgate on a 84 truck, and they can tell you it wont work, or come here ( a post has already covered this) and get the answer you need.  Get the right part the first time because the warm body who is shipping it to you knows what they are sending, or order it a couple of times because the warm body just shipped what the catalog said too.

That was nice choptop,
but you dont know unless you ask a question. I know the body parts are priced different cost of the metal used . the thicker the metal the price goes up. But I got 4 replys here and all 4 was oh sh*t why did he ask that. And all said this is the best place . I dont know if this is the best place are  if   Truck ,CLASSIC PARTS , JC WHITNEY, GM MOTORs , GOODMARK , etc. is the better place That is why The question was asked . And one company cant have the best part and price on all the parts , jc whitney has a 5pc cab kit for $74.99 +22.99 shipping , But I have never used them and dont know about the metal. And I dont know were I will buy from yet . I have done bouhgt fenders but I bought GM fenders , And a few parts for the inside has been ordered from GM . I was GM still had parts for this truck
But they only have odd and end parts left

Years ago I got a tail gate for a 75 Dodge D150 from J.C. Crapney. It was crap.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Chris has Goodmark/dynacorn, they are the best sheet metal out there for chevys, I'd buy from Chris and pick up the parts in Lawrence Ga.(Goodmark) and save on shipping. There only 105 miles from you.

Sorry about that. I guess part of the reasons for the short responses was lack of knowing how to handle the question. ( At least I am guilty of that). You are correct about the cost and thickness of metal compared to different , and even Chris has said that oem parts are better, and recommends them himself. His are a cost effective alternative. Sorry once again for not answering your original question properly.

It is completely up to you where you spend your money.  I am only offering my discount + a % to you because I want to.  I am completely neutral in the whole matter.

All of the major suppliers get their sheet metal from the same place Tri-Plus.  There are other suppliers, but the parts are not as thick.

JC Whitneys 5 piece at $74.99 +22.99 shipping? where?
Looks like $90 to me.

It doesn't compare to our same kit at 62.95 + shipping and we have a full drop in floor (we have 3 options) at $67.95 for the most expensive one.  Shipping is around $27.

Another big ticket example: one piece windows:

Who does?

Chris

You forgot a couple of things

Customer Service. Do any of them call you if a part is backordered to tell you ? Doubt it Chris does

Support. If you have a question on how to put a part on you call them what are they going to tell you ? If anything what ever a little book tells em here you get the people who have actually installed the parts
