I love the stuff, can't get enough of General Tso's (also General Gau's) chicken.  Also like the standard fare of Lo Mein (any variety), chicken fingers, fried rice, and teriaki.  Scallion pancakes, spring rolls, crab rangoon, shrimp with garlic sauce, sweet/sour chicken, beef w/ broccoli, egg foo yong, all are excellent.

I went to a friend's wedding (she's from Vietnam, he's from Japan) where they served 12 courses.  My God was the food good.  I couldn't pronounce any of it, but the first dish was so good, I didn't care what was in the rest.

My brother-in-law married a girl from Laos, and she makes the best spring rolls I've ever had.  I could eat those 'til I'm sick.  Yeah, you definitely need to go to a good place to get the true experience.  Some are just awful.  It would be like assuming Taco Bell is representative of all Mexican food.  Now that's a place that has me heading for the can 20 minutes after the meal.

i love Chinese.  i think the thing is you have to try a lot of restaurants to find a good one.  There's many different styles of Chinese cooking---all the restaurants are not the same style and menu.

Now as far as the dogs and cats in the food thing;  i think it's grossly overstated especially in this country but also in China.  i did work with a guy who is/was a chef at a Chinese restaurant and he did admit to eating dog once, and it was only due to peer pressure.  i think this was in a very rural area of China and it's really not common at all.  As far as i know.

He said it tasted like chicken.

I got to eat it .
The wife is Chinese.
Chicken fried rice tonight.

Actually, that's the only Chinese I eat. Everything else she cooks is some kind of overcooked dry piece of meet.

Its like she hired Peg Bundy to do the cooking. ::)

I used to tell people that my wife(Puerto Rican) specialized in Cajun because everything was "burnt". ;)
I'm half Taiwanese and can eat almost anything. Nothing spicy though. I break out in a sweat if just smell it, kinda funny. ::)

Not big on hot peppers and such, but I put the garlic to everything I cook / eat.
My old man loved garlic, & the hot stuff, he would eat a whole big jar of Habanaro pepper like they where candy! Friends and family would always show up with the latest and greatest hot sauce or peppers what ever. He would take a big mouth full, not even break a sweat!
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Since I can't get chili beer around here anymore, in the summer time I put a pepperoncini in a Corona! yum!

+ = lol

I'm the only guinea I know that skimps on garlic. I must be part vampire
