73-87 Solid motor mounts????
« on: January 21, 2009, 10:16:49 pm »
Good evening, does anyone know of a site or company that offers a true solid motor mount? I'm not looking for a poly mount....but a true solid motor mount. I know my younger brother built a pair 5-6 years ago using some older Chevy car motor brackets and some Moroso solid mounts. He just welded the brackets to the frame and then bolted in the Moroso mounts.

I am hoping to avoid the fabrication...and looking for a direct bolt in option.

Anyone have any ideas???

Thanks for any and all help
Brian

What is the reason you want solid motor mounts?  I wouldnt use them on a daily driver.

I want my motor solid mounted to keep it from twisting and ripping stock motor mounts. The last 358 I built kept shredding stock motor mounts....so I plan to fix this problem with this truck before it's an issue.

I have no issues driving daily with solid mounts....lol Some people are into AC,radio, and a cush ride.....I'm more about driving a fast, loud drag truck anytime anywhere ;)

It's just my personal preference.....   THANKS for the link by the way.....so I'm assuming that those are a direct bolt in model....and I just add a set of those standard Moroso solid mounts to those adapters, correct?

My 69 Camaro has Moroso Solid mounts in it. I bought the Energy Suspension poly mounts for it but the more I thought about it I left the solids in there. They were installed back in the 70's when it was a drag car and it just seemed wrong to take them out. I've had the car over ten years and they grow on you. It wouldn't seem right driving it without them.
