or the one I used which has an adjustable thermistor

I have several questions. Is the truck a 2WD or 4? Driver or showpiece? What is the fan from (OEM or aftermarket)?
How do you know how big of a fan to use?

So you can measure cfm?  do you have any idea what a stock engine driven fan pulls?

Yes, you can use a velometer or an anemometer. You'd have to actually measure it to know what it pulls at what rpm and temperature. The stock fan is thermostatic.
