Welcome from NW Indiana.  The fuel filter is in the carb.  Follow the gas line to the carb.

thanks for the welcoming.

now i have a question, recently i changed the wires and plugs in my truck because it was running weird after that it worked like a dream it will rev up fast but now after 2 weeks its running weird again its doesnt want to rev and it takes along time to shift from 1st to second and when it does it pulls very strong and than it becomes slow again. it also backfires it feels like the exahaust is stock or something.

do you think is the carburator??

First, make sure none of the spark plug wires are touching the exhaust. You may have burnt one. Then pull the plugs and check to see what they look like. Are the fouled, covered in oil, carboned up etc? Then we can have a better idea possibly on whats going on, before you start spending money on other parts. Its too hard to get much of these days.
