Blower motor switch
« on: February 12, 2009, 01:19:25 am »
I went to buy a blower motor switch for my truck (82 gmc) and they gave me a plastic one which is a different style.

I know of an 80's truck cab so I went and stripped a lot out of it, I'd like to go back for the rest.  The heater switch I took has the same bracket style as my old one, but doesnt have the center pin.  How many different blower motor switches are there?  Is the 82 blower motor switch a specific one?

Here are the pictures.

I know there's a difference between the A/C and non A/C models. That poor cab has what looks like a Vintage Air A/C setup, so I can't tell you exactly what they use.

hm, I never thought of that.  I remember the passenger side kick panel had a manual air vent, i though only non ac models had that.

Thanks CaptKaos, Vile, and Prong.  I checked the link Vile posted and they have the switch I am looking for, I'll just shop around town until I find it.  I think it is so odd how many different switches are out there, because it didnt show the one I pulled off of that cab (3 prong).

I got one for 17 bucks at Car Quest, the guy has a few Chevy plow trucks so he has lots of their parts in stock.  They even had a brand new OEM from the factory :D

That cab looks like it spent some time in Mass.

Ya, the rust is pretty bad on that cab.  I still would like to take the whole thing, everyday more and more of those trucks go to the scrappers, one day they will be a real hot commodity.  The newer trucks are difficult to modify and too fancy, plus they look like poop.  If I dont end up hauling the body away, at least I will take every nut and bolt out of that thing!
