98 Vette 1/4 times. Oldwhity's car ran quicker than mine.

  I Didn't want to steal the last post about the S10 SS. Just had a couple of questions for Oldwhity about his vette. 12.88 is moving, how was your car set up? I had a 98 vette also. 350/auto/2.73 gears. A few days after I bought it in 2003 with 32K on it I started racing it at New England Dragway.
 The first night out it ran 13.50's all night. After a few bolt ons like k+N dual air filter's, hypertech programmer, hollowed out Mass Airflow Sensor, and a Borla cat back system I went 13.20's.
 I thought the 2.73's were the limiting factor in my set up. I was just curious about your car.

2.73 is a lousy final drive ratio for the track. You'd see a huge difference with a 3.55

Hey Fitz, those were fun days! I honestly don't remember what gears came with the car. I bought it new off the showroom floor with 1200 miles on it (dealer used it and was never titled). Black LS1 6sp coupe. The only thing I did to the car was cut the mufflers off and had tips made to look factory($50) and a set of 305/40/16's on mid-80's Vette rims(left over from 95 T/A). I want to say that the ratio in that car was a 3.42 but not sure. No K&N or any other adder. I sold it in 2000 with under 5000 miles on it

 It makes sense yours ran that quick with the 3.42's in it. I looked into buying a complete center section with 3.73's in it, but it was around $2500. I sold the car in 2004. At the time the vette ran 13.2 and my camaro ran 13.1 so the slower car had to go. The gameplan was to put the money into the camaro and get into the 12's. Hopefully this summer I will get around to it.

In my opinion gears play a big part in your ET. My T/A ran mid to low 13's all day long with just bolt-ons. When I put in the 4.10's it turned into a 12.90's car still naturally aspirated.
