Where the best prices for steering components
« on: February 22, 2009, 10:58:13 am »
Hello everyone. I was wondering where the best prices for steering components. I have a 82 3/4 ton 4wd GMC with the 4' long tie rod. I've been looking and WOW are they expensive. I also need drag links, ball joints, etc. I would like to buy these all in one place if possible. Is it possible to convert this setup to another year to save money and is it worth the hassle? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Call your local parts stores first. Make a list of the prices from each store. Most of these parts are heavy and shipping cost will up the cost.

I bought all my front end stuff from advance, o'reily's and rock auto.com   Between them I got all moog stuff for around $250 cheaper than i could have bought it all from any single one of them.  rock auto means shipping is involved but my springs and some heavier items were still way cheaper even with shipping included.

Moog is the most expensive parts you can buy cause they are lifetime warrenty,  You can go with the cheaper chinese brands like autotreadsaver, autoextra, and also transit/topquality.  They work fine if you are not too abusive. just keep them greased up and it'll be all good.

In my opinion spicer is of better quality then moog and around the same price for most parts a little more here or a little less here.
