Snow in the South
« on: March 01, 2009, 09:02:44 am »
We are expecting 12 inches in Richmond tonight.  I hear Alabama got a lot of the white stuff.  Figures, I've been waiting all winter, really for about 5 years for a big storm, and here it is March and we are finally gonna get it.

You guys in Alabama doin all right?

Everything is white here !  About 2" and its slacking up now. This system is moving east so look out.  State police are asking people to stay home.

It's melting

All gone in a matter of hours !!  Now bright sunshiney day.

We are supposed to get 10" to 16" tonight through Tuseday morning. Long time frame should be easy to keep up with. Last one we got 18" in about sixteen hours.
I have a couple friends that live in the south, transplants from up here, they all say most natives loose there mind with two or three inches of snow. So don't fret, it will melt!! LOL ;D
Its cool your boy got to experience snow. Everyone should, it is a magical thing. I still love to just sit and watch it fall in wonderment how mother nature works.

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Most people around here go crazy if we get a half inch of snow, they close school, dont go to work and clean out the grocery stores. By the way they act you would think they were gonna be snowed in for weeks.

Well it lets the little ones out for a while

But heavy snows can do some damage to our trees. Lost some limbs on this one.
