NEED CARB HELP EDMONTON, AB ASAP

Hi i drive an 86 C20, 350 with a quadra jet 4 bbl.
LOOKING FOR CARB HELP IN EDMONTON ASAP
Hopefully somebody who lives in edmonton can help me either fix this right away or assist me in removing/installing a used one or new one, i can pay but i am in NAIT so a very tight budget.
I bought this truck a few weeks ago and have had some trouble with the fuel.
i replaced the lines, ran it from a big jerry can, replaced the fuel pump twice, now it will only run if you manually feed gas into the carb.
I have checked the feed from where the fuel filter is and its great, so its gotta be the carb, however i have no haynes manual etc to help with the procedure.
right before this started happening the truck would almost stall when you gave it gas, not all the time but it was starting to increase. Mid throttle she would buck and go quiet, while keeping my foot at the same spot it would just accelerate then nothing then accel then nothing then accel then nothing, this would happen for about 5-15 seconds sometimes clearing up on its own or me pulling over and trying to start it (sometimes requiring some gas into the bbl).
IF YOU KNOW SOMEBODY MY NUMBER IS 780-660-0200 COLBY

try changing the fuel filter and cleaning the carb first.

i changed the filter twice and even took it out to improve flow, i had used fuel cleaner a few times before this and sprayed a bunch of carb cleaner as well.
no worries campcrf i appreciate the thought though

maybe a carb kit would be a good investment since you are on a budget.. they are cheap and worth the cash.... by the way.. its cool to see someone on this site close to my area. You ever make it to Lethbridge street machine weekend?.... its worht checking out... best weekend of the year.

a kit would be great but that carb would have to soak for a while to get all taht crap off, apartment living doesnt leave much room for a carb to soak in solvent. Ive seen trucks with 400km that have a cleaner carb than this one!
If its not a simple fix it will be replaced, i do not have the time to rebuild it right now because of school, but i will have lots of time to rebuild it in 2 months.
A new performance carb is around 350 and i heard that they can help mileage a little bit (as if anything could help a 4bbl)
The thing i was wondering was if the lines were the same when hooking it up? never done or seen it before
What is the date on that weekend? i love seeing what guys have cooked up for their rides, it would be awesome to check out.
I got a few relatives in calgary and looking to move back there in the next 2 years.
Once i fix this carb, take off and rinse out the gas tank and lines, put the new rear drums on, then i will be done for a while.

If you're going to the main campus near the airport, swing by the automotives department and try to talk to one of the older instructors about doing it on the side. Most of the instructors made livings playing with carbs before the became teachers. I'm sure they could help you out in a jam... Or use their brains to pick

exactly what i was thinking but it was the end of the day today so they were already gone when i went looking. If the guys teaching me went to NAIT for their education i was sure there was bound to be somebody there who's built a rod or two.
Now if i had only been born 30 years earlier i wouldnt have missed all the good stuff!

Cowman...
The street wheelers has a website you can check out. Its usually the first or second weeken in july... I havent missed one in awhile. We usually camp there when we go...Its a great time...I think I will start a thread on this site for it. let me know when you move to Calgary maybe we can hook up for some beers and bs about truck stuff...
How are you making out on your carb?

The carb is now fixed, i tracked down an advisor at nait and he told me to poke something very gently down the tube on the top of the carb, took 3 tries but she fired right up like she was new.
I should be able to make it down there for that weekend, i'll keep you posted on my eta.

ya i should be able to make it down, july 10-12, thats still a while away. i checked that website out, to become a member you have to bring in a form? that wont be for a while lol.
the sticker in my glove box said 131inches wheelbase i think.
so that carb issue, turned out to be the lobe off the cam for the pump, my mech said he has never seen it happen before. with only 153km i would have to say that is some horrible luck.
we are going to try to stick an electric pump on there instead, i'll wait to replace the cam when i do a rebuild.
