Trans. Kick down harness
« on: March 06, 2009, 06:28:06 pm »
The elec. trans kick down is missing from my truck. I assume this is this a small separate harness that goes to the carb?  I need one and don't want to steal the one off my '74.

TH400? The switch goes on the gas pedal.

What about a 350/350 set up? My gas pedal does have the steel bracket which the kick down does snap into.

So then, I assume it is NOT directly hooked to the pedal but on the carb itself??

Here's you a pic.  You just run 12v+ from the fuse panel to it, and then to the single electrical connector on the drivers side of the tranny.  you'll need the gas pedal bracket from an original th400 truck.

Thanks but as I said my truck has a TH350 and it does have a gas pedal bracket but nothing electrical is attached. My '74 454/400 has what you spoke of, BUT, where does this DETENT CABLE go for the TH350??

detent cable for a th350 goes from the throttle bracket on the carb to the tranny, theres nothing electric involved.  I though you were installing a 400 in your truck, sorry.
