Sunday, December 28th, 2014: Picked up an air cleaner, Oil, filter and glow plugs and new batteries and cables for the truck.  Found the air cleaner housing and reinstalled it.  Had to steal a cable clip off of a spare TBI to retain the throttle cable

Monday, December 29th, 2014: Installed the new batteries and cables.  Was only going to validate the wiring so I only hooked up one battery.  When I touched it to the positive post it tried to crank the truck.

Thursday, January 1st, 2015:Found that the prong on the positive cable was touching the S terminal of the solenoid.  Moved it around and reconnected the battery.  With everything hooked up the Water in fuel bulb came on and went of.  However the Wait light stays on permanently.  In addition, the truck won't start.  Checked on the starting circuit and apparenty the starter relay isn't getting voltage.  After playing with it I decided to bypass the relay and see if it would crank.  While all of this was going on I drained the old oil out and found that the gasket was broken which is why it was constantly leaking.

With the relay bypassed the truck turned over.  So I set out to pick up a replacement relay and a new drain gasket.  I also bought 3 gallons of diesel.

Saturday, January 3rd, 2015: During the breaks of rain I went out to check the glow plugs and to see if there was any air in the fuel system.  Went I got out there both batteries I hooked up on Thursday were dead and I had to put them on charge.  While that was going on using a test light I hooked it to the positive battery and to each glow plug.  All of them lit so they should be good.  Moved to loosening the injection lines and cranking it to get fuel out.  All but 2 were getting fuel, but the batterys weren't very charged so I ended up running them down during the checks.  Left everything on charge and hopefully it will stop raining tomorrow to make some progress.
During this time I put the replacement relay in place and with it there the truck won't crank, so it is still bypassed.  I also have a big power steering leak that will need to be addressed before I can drive it.

IMO you should do another 5.3 or 6.0 swap.

Saturday, January 10th, 2015: with charged batteries checked the fuel getting to the injectors, check.  Pulled glows for mist, check.  Turned it over and won't fire.  Did a quick check. Don't thin the glows are getting power.  When I had one pulled I tested it and it heated.

Sunday, January 11th 2015: Found the wire going to the glow controller wasn't getting any voltage.  Ran a new wire from the junction to the controller and it now runs.

Saturday, January 17th: Pulled out the Holley Exhaust kit and did an inventory of all the parts.  Layed everything out and started mocking it up in the truck.  Found that the collectors wouldn't fit and that the tail pipes wouldn't go into the mufflers.  Got a carbide bit and opened up the flanges to work and bolted on the down tubes and primary piping and the mufflers.

I swapped phones so I am missing all my pictures..

Monday, January 19th: Spend most of the day with my daughter but I managed to swing by a shop and had them expand the mufflers slightly to fit the pipes in.

Lost those pics too..
