APC steering wheel install
« on: March 10, 2009, 07:04:13 pm »
HELLO????????????????????????????????????????????????

Does anyone know how to hook up the horn for an aftermarket steering wheel???  I bought one of those APC Billet steering wheels. How do I connect the horn wire down into the plastic sleeve on my 78?  You know, it has a metal plunger with a spring under it.(HORN CONTACT)

I want to get this mother done!

The instructions are jibberish and don't even show the ACTUAL parts!

I would have to yank my wheel out and look at what mine looks like again, but I'm out of town, and my truck is at home.

Did you buy the horn adapter kit? You may need to trim the plastic sleeve down.

The wheel came with a horn button and two wires with connectors on it.

You need to get a wheel adapter kit. It will provide you with all the parts you need to install that wheel. Most aftermarket wheels need them. Apc and others use the grant style adapter kit.

You asked if I had a HORN adapter kit. Like I said, I have a horn button with two wires.  I do have the WHEEL adapter kit but for the life of me cannot get this horn hook up figured out. I took out the factory horn contact(little plunger with spring behind it) What the rest??
