The wheel gets uncentered if you use stock suspension and a bag setup with it laying on the ground with a limited amount of lift (riding one low).
The only way to fix this is to move the mounting location forward.  Just Z'ing the suspension will NOT fix this, it only makes it lower.

Ok, help me understand a little better! Are you guys saying that the silver truck with the Porterbuilt setup would not be decent truck to say pull a trailer with a 85 el camino on it? Im in the process of bagging my 86 C10, not to lay rocker or anything too serious but I still want to be able to tow my el camino from different shops to my garage. Let me know so I'd know if "back to the drawing board" is my next step.

Thanks, Slim

Slim, call Porterbuilt and talk to Nathan and tell him what you are wanting to do.

i was thinking of the 1 1/2" notch out of the front crossmember and lowered spindes and springs  would be the cheapest why to go for me, i love the PB fronts but at the moment with the ecomonyits  not a good idea, my only concerns would be if you do notch the front crossmember wouldnt it be wise to also lift the steering box up the same amount ?? would that keep everything inline?? also lifting the steering box maybe the notch could go to 2" just a thought!!

Buy a Porterbuild Drop member and rear section.  The front bolts in so you can reverse it and it will put the truck on the ground, the rear bolts/welds in and will do the same.

I would raise the cross member or just build a new one out of 2x4 stock. That won't affect it that much and get you on the ground. As for lift and towing concerns..I'd box the frame from under the cab back and include this in your notch. That should be enough. As for lift. I'd throw a 2600# bag on the front with a cup just tall enough to still lay but get the most lift out of the bag

my buddy was up telln me that you can cut the bottom of the frame under the cab off and plate it and box it in and it gets you close enuff to eatn rocker and its still just as strong with out all the hassle of going through a traditional BD
