1988 Jimmy
« on: April 12, 2009, 02:28:00 pm »
Jimmy has landed !
1988 Full sixe 4x4
350 TBI    700r
Sierra Classic , pretty loaded
Body is great , underneath is scary in spots !
What panels are available for floor and
espically what I'll  call the ' sub frame '?? if you know what I mean ?
Anyone have any info or links on floor repair or nods on Jimmy / Blazer

I am very close to going frame off with this one. I assume someone has
done some custom fab on the underside or all the peices available aftermarket?

Thanks

On my 84 K5 I replaced the entire rear floor assembly. I bought it from Gm for $400 bucks. Not sure if it's still available from them but it fit beautiful. It was a lot of work though and the supports underneathe were rotted. I ended up getting street sign posts from a guy that worked for the town doing street signs and they worked mint. All of the other panels you can get through this website.

This is the worst spot.
Can I simplify this area?
Is the area pointed to structural or can I
cut that area out and box it?

Good luck with the floors, hope you post lots of pictures of the process, it might motivate me to start working on my Jimmy again.  its still in my garage in pieces, deciding if i want to part it out and get rid of it or put in the elbow grease to get it fixed if i don't get evicted for working on it.
