1987 Chevy r10 2wd with the 700r4. I recently installed a corvette servo kit. Install went great, I know everything went together well. I test drove the truck down the street a couple times and it was awesome. The shifts really firmed up. I did not test overdrive though and I probably should have.
Drove the truck back home for a filter change. The new filter I bought from advance auto parts looked exactly the same as the old one.
I removed the old filter. The seal did not come out with it so it was easily removed with a small pick.
Put the new seal on the new filter, oiled it up, pushed it into the transmission. Went to put the pan on but it was slightly hitting the filter before reaching flush with the transmission. I was able to still bolt it all up but I was somewhat hesitant since it was making contact with the filter before bolting it up.
Filled it up with to the proper level, test drove the truck. Shifts just as good as it did after the servo install. This time I went on the highway. It shifts into OD but it seemed alittle more sluggish going into OD than before. Also, when in OD and I mash the pedal, it didn't seem to positively kick down like before.
What do you think I messed up? Since the filter was hitting the pan, could the transmission possibly be starving for fluid? Did the corvette servo screw up my overdrive?
