grill question
« on: April 16, 2009, 07:01:09 pm »
I have an 83 gmc with a late model chevy front clip.  Can I get a GMC center for this grill or do I have to change out the whole clip?

I think what your looking for the center grille of the 3pc set(2 bezels and grille). You can get the grille but may not have the "GMC" in it unless you find one in the junkyard. Captkaos may carry them.

Thanks guys.  I might put one of those billet grills in there.  I just wanted the gmc emblem.

You could pick up an inexpensive grille from Summit and cut out the very center large enough to custom fit a recessed GMC emblem.

IMO, that wouldn't look right, because that chrome bar going across the center makes it a chevy grille, regardless of the emblem.

dang that thing looks like a tonka toy. makes me wanna hop in the back and roll down a hill.......

dont tell me you guys never did that.

hit the junkyard and look for a gmc grill, usually the only part i find in junkyards that isnt trashed is the grill.

Im new to this forum, i have an 85 gmc shortbed and was lookin to put a late model grill on it. i call it a peek-a-boo front end. I was wonderin what was all needed to put this front end on. i've heard u need the core support plus the whole grill assembly, others say u just need the grill assembly. Any advice would help thanx.
