can someone help me ID a wire on the brights footswitch, please?

hey guys. quickly, im sorry to bother you about this, but can someone tell me what the wires are that come down to the brights footswitch.

I have a yellow, a green and a purple to the footswitch.. and then theres this black wire within the same bundle. its of smaller gauge and doesnt really look like its a part of the schematic. this same black wire is bundled to the rest with black eletrical tape, and it dissappears ( just like the other wires to the footswitch) up and then behind the fuse block somewhere.

I know there are other weird things the PO may have done, like taking power right off the fusebox and such. soldered a wire right to a fuseless terminal... but.. man I hate electrical crap like this.

I want to get rid of all of unneccessary wiring from this dudes old stereo and other ghetto crap he had goin in there. I just cant tell whats stock and whats not. I mean, I can tell janky from OE, ... or can I??

Um What. lol i have to wait to get off work b4 i can get a pic of my foot switch and post it. i cant remember how many do come out of it nor the direction

Not 100% sure but could it be for the indicator for the high beams in the cluster?  Does it go to one of the terminals in the plug for the dimmer switch?  If so which one?

There should only be 3 wires going to the switch.
