Painting plastic

I want to give the three wheeler a paint job now what could i do to the plastic to smooth it out , the fenders have to flex. I'm thinking wet sanding but i don't know. any other suggestions

You'll need to clean and scuff with some scotch brite and I would use some kind of adhesion promoter. Either way every time I've seen one repainted it comes off.

Irish, It's pretty unrealistic to paint the fenders on a 3 wheeler/quad, ect. & think they will hold up. They flex & flop around, not to mention bumping stuff with them. It would be like painting a balloon, radiator hose, tire, ect. & thinking after using it for what is used for, expecting the paint to not be cracked & falling off. If it was something you have a couple different colored pieces from different ATV's & wanted to do it to make it all one color to sell...spray it with Bulldog & put flex in the paint. Lorne

On a side note...If the panels are just lightly scraped up, you may try wet sanding them with 600, then 1000-1200 & try buffing them since they are molded all the way through this may work pretty well. Give that a try! Lorne

i was doubtful about it not cracking but i thought maybe there was a nother way to do it that i didn't know about it would probably take a whole lot of flex lol

OK found out what i want done just don't know were and if i can do it my self

now if I'm not wrong on thing its like a film that you dip whatever you want in it and it covers it

i know what you are talking about!    the guys on the chopper show did it to some fenders and a gas tank for one of their bikes...

thanks 4x4 but i just looked at the prices and to do a stock to a gun your talking 100 at the lowest lol i just might have to buy that guys 3 wheeler it will probably be cheaper

yeah it's not cheap stuff, but man does it look good!!

The Krylon Fusion (in a spray bomb) has held up decently on my boy's 70CC 4 wheeler. I scuffed it used and adhesion promoter and then sprayed it.

You might want to look into a flex additive, alot of my friends use it on their body kits.

I know a guy here local (NE Texas) that does water transfer printing. he's a smaller operation so he might have better pricing, if you want I can get you his contact info.
