rearend leaf spring setups
« on: April 27, 2009, 07:41:26 pm »
Here it goes. I have a c30 dually mason dump project. stock from the factory it has 10 leafs on the bottom and 1 on top. on both sides, passenger and driver i have a few broken leafs. here is my solution I have a 1978 c30 dually mason dump with similar springs although it has 9 leafs total. my main question would be how much do you think that 9 leaf spring pack would be rated for? I know my truck has the code for the 11000lbs rating.  my other though on this was taking that 9 leaf spring pack leaving that alone and taking apart my current pack down to lets say a 5 pack. So ultimately I would have a slightly better ride because im down to 9 but when i put those really heavy loads on the truck i'll have those extras that can kick in then. I think it would work just wanted some input on that subject.

Also my front coils are feeling a bit saggy and I would like to replace them with the same ones or ones that can handle a little more weight. I would like my front end to perk up a bit more. Another thing my buddy has an 89 r30 that had coils on the front with airbags inside for that extra weight rating. Where might i be able to find something like that?
