A/C Question

Well I wasnt sure if this belonged here cause some of the ac is in the cab some is under the hood. most of my question ahs to do with the cab. Nonetheless. Ok 85 C30 non-ac truck. I have 2 complete K5 blazers with a/c all the ductwork vents dash with vents everything. All there. Does anyone know how hard it would be to put all that into my C30? I assume the ductwork would be the hardest to get in and out of the truck. But I also know there is a lot of vacuum stuff that would need to go along with it. I would want to keep my floor vents with the handle to pull not convert those over to vacuum powered. What else would need to be done? I would love to have a/c in my nice old truck but worse comes to worse I can live without it. Hopefully in the next day or so the cab will be coming over to do the drivetrain so now would be the time to do it i'm already in deep why not make it a little deeper.

Piece of cake. Take everything out and transfer it over. The worst part will be the evaporator/heater case. Be careful not to break it. You will have to cut a hole in the firewall but just use your AC truck as a template. It amy be easier to remove the inner fender on the pass side also.

Does the ac in one of the K5's work? If so you can remove the evaporator, heater case, compressor and condenser as one unit and leave all of the lines connected.
You can use the heater box out of the second K5 to do all of the mock up work.

one of the blazers the compressor is disconnected so I assume that one is bad...I tried the other blazer but it wasnt kicking on or off it spins good so the compressor is good i pushed on one of the line releases and nothing came out so both systems are empty. Is there anythign else I will ahve to watch out for or be careful of while im cutting and stuff? Because I don't want to screw up my cab and end up trying to weld in pieces of steel adn putting the old heater box back in there. and the fenders and wells are off the trucks anyway so it should be all fine and dandy...Hopefully in a day or so I will have the cab off so I will most likely attempt it then when I drain the coolant from the engine and such.

Should be straight forward. You will want to grab the wiring harness and control/switches for the AC also.

Ya i took a good hard look at that today. i did about 45 minutes worth of looking at the dang blazer with the whole setup in it. I will continue thinking about it until I get the whole drivetrain situation figured out then when i return to working on the cab I will act then.
