I've seen one leaf broken on a *heavily* abused 76 C10 farm truck. How did you manage that one?

40 driveways with a 9' plow, thats how. Finishing up my route I thought it was hitting a little hard on the bumps. Forgot about it that night, went to the pit for sand the next morning, and felt it again. Got under and looked, thats what I found!

wow...that is all i have to say...i ran an 84 k20 that my boss put 5 leafs in the front and i run a 9 foot plow and i haven't ever broken a single spring you must have hit a huge pot hole at like 50 or something dude that is ridiculous.

No I go easy on it. They are aftermarket lift springs, my opinion they don't hold up as well with that type of use.

you plow with lift springs? and a 9 footer at that? Wow I would never even consider plowing with any sort of lift. UNles its with blocks and no aftermarket crap. That stuff can't hold up to plowing.

It was in the truck when I bought it! So I just replaced what was there. Lift is not a problem as long as you drop the back of the plow down about 1/2 the hight of the lift.

You can plow with lift springs no problem. My buddy has about 10 Chevy's he plows with for his landscaping busines. None of the trucks have the stock leaves.

My 79 Jimmy had a 4" Rancho lift with a Fisher 7.5' Minute Mount plow set up. I never had a problem with it.

I add one or two positive arch leaves to the front of all my plow trucks, and a 1" to 2' block in the back. This one just happens to have had an actual lift kit in it. I think it does fine, also think the weight from the big block, and the 9' plow help.
