Our '87 k-5 blazer
« on: May 04, 2009, 05:36:42 pm »
Here are a few pics of My '87 k-5 blazer.  We gave 1000 bucks for her! she had been sitting under a tree for a few years.
It has a dead(almost) 700r4 trans. in it. and it hasen't been on the road for 2 years, and i got in her and drove her 40 miles (just couldn't back up!) home. It ran perfectly! and i have only found one dime sized spot of rust on her!
So what do you guys, think? did i get a smoking deal or what!?
These pics were taken the day after i got her home and ran it thru, a serious pressure washer!

Nice blazer! Was the truck, cap, or both painted in the past or was it an option to get it in gloss?

The Guy i bought it from said that he had owned it for about 10 or 12 yrs, and that he had a "cheap" paint job on it  a few yrs back.
Looks like they tryed to do a "factory" look with the pinstripes. i guess he had the top painted, also.
I think it looks pretty go, but i will probably try to get it painted back to original, on down the road alittle.
Right now i think i'm just gonna take care of the drivabillty issues right now, at least till i get my Suburban finished.

Found another 1 that looks like its in good shape and has an extra drivetrain for 1600 bucks, this morning on the local Craigslist. Wish i had a bottomless wallet, and a big yard to keep em all in!!

Haha ya that works...nice find for 1000. I look on craigslist all the time...i found 2 6.2 diesel blazers one works good with a plow the other for parts for 800 but ill be giggered if i have more room for more trucks...i have to pass up these deals all the time and it breaks my heart. I passed up a 300 k2500 with a "bad engine" guy said it didnt run after he did a tune up and wants it to leave...just no room for it. either way good luck with that thing.

Wish I lived closer so I could snatch it up.
