STOLEN!!!

  My ankle was finally healed up enough to walk on and be normal so I hooked up the trailer to my 79 and finally got the 87.
     I got it to the shop saturday afternoon and started in on it. I got the front clip and cab off of the frame, as I was going to go frame off. I left the shop around 8 Saturday night feelin good about the progress I made.

    Yesterday morning I got a call from my buddy I share the shop with saying that we'd been robbed. My 87 was gone as well as his 73 show truck. They also got a couple of his quads that weren't locked up inside the shop. The building is locked, but the yard where our trucks were is fenced in with razor wire up top. We found the lock cut and lying on the ground. We're lucky they didn't empty out the yard, but where are you going to hide a bunch of Uhaul trailers?  Whoever this was knew what was there and came specificly for those trucks...

      Now I'm all sad... I've got the title and vin plates for the 87, and Brian has the title and vin plates for his 73, both were under construction, the cops didn't sound too hopeful, and I'm not getting my hopes up, I'm out a dirtbike, some bucket seats and my truck! Is there no decency in the world?

Put a doghouse out in the yard with a German Shepard to keep an eye out.  That really sucks though---all that hard work.

I too am sorry about your loss. I think theives should be treated lke murderers. Both stealing and murdering are taking away something that doesnt belong to you.

Brian has some shady friends, it wouldn't suprise me if it was someone he knows. I got the truck off of him which kinda makes me think he didn't do it. I suppose I should get my money back for the donor cab I bought for the chop... I feel violated, and not in any kind of good way.

It makes me sick to think of someone getting way with my truck.  I'm very sorry to hear about this.  And while it is unlikely that you'll ever see it again, don't completely give up hope.  Keep an eye out and spread the word (the more lookouts you have the better) check craigslist and ebay regularly.  You maybe on to something with your buddy's "shady" friends.

I've been watching for Brian's truck, it has this insane bag system on it that will make it stand out from anything else out there, find that one find the guys? Mine was pretty hacked, which is why I had it down to frame, if I find either I'll be happy, I don't know about the insurance since neither truck technically exists, they haven't been registered in years... I try to keep the faith but its difficult. I'm just glad my 79 was at home.

man that sucks i had my high school project 79 stepside stolen when i was 18 i know the feelin, if the cops there are anything like the cops here, you would be better off tellin everyone you know to keep an eye out, the cops just dont seem to have the time to look

Yeah the cops down here were dis-interested to say the least, which was familiar, this is the 3rd vehicle I've had stolen, the other two were in California. The first one was a dodge d50 that I hated and didn't care, the one that hurt was my 92 Chevy dually, I had that truck for 5 years when it got taken... its probably residing in Mexico now...

Sorry for your loss. I've never had a vehicle stolen but had windows broken and things taken out.

That sucks...   but to answer your question about there being decency in the world... well there's not as much as there used to be.  whats yours is mine and whats mine is mine, seems to be the mentality.

If you have the title and proof of ownership call the insurance. I agree watch craigslist for parts and ebay. A smart theif will strip it. Someone knows something so I would also post a reward and flyers too. How well do you trust your buddy? IF you find out who did it let us know! Good luck
