np205 support / reaction bar
« on: May 06, 2009, 06:36:41 am »
Hi,
My 4x4 '78 1/2-ton w/ np-205 doesn't have the support bar that should bolt between the passenger side of the transfer case and supposedly the bellhousing.

Would anyone have (links to) pics of those things? Trying to figure out if it'd be easy enough to make one myself, or if I should try to find a used one.

BTW, how likely is it, that the adapter or the transfer case cracks due to lack of the bar?

Never cracked a 205 but have broken a few 208s without one of them! Very simple bar. Just use a heavy wall tubing. Flatten one end out, drill a hole, and put a 90 degree bend in it. Flatten the other end out, and drill two holes in it.
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs
