egr/emissions

i have an 82 C10. it had an 305 but was replace with a goodwrench 250hp 350. i know on the rad support there is an emission sticker. but mine is hard to see. there is no air pump for sure. so what emission equipment is needed. where i live, they do require emission testing.

Most likely evap system, EFE system, EGR system. You might want to get a new VECI label and slap it on there.

ok, i am new to this so be patient. i know what the egr is. i had to buy one and install it. i do not know what the EFE or the evap is. and where can i get this sticker?

Many restoration companies make new VECI labels.

EFE is early fuel evaporation. This is promoted using a stove pipe and thermostatic air cleaner. A heat riser in the exhaust is also used to help heat the intake manifold during warm up.

EGR is used for the reduction of NOx

EVAP system vents fuel tank and carburetor vapors into a charcoal cannister where it stays contained until it can be redirected back into the intake for combustion.

The catalytic converter is used to reduce NOx and recombine CO and HC to help promote CO2, H2O tailpipe emissions.

If it used a.i.r which is air injection reaction, it is also to help complete combustion after combustion has taken place and to help oxidize in the second bed of the catalyst.

     evap- got it
     no a.i.r on truck i dont think i need it.
     i dont have the heat riser. i dont think they care about that too much
