Grinding Control Arms
« on: June 08, 2009, 09:48:21 pm »
I just had a three inch drop kit installed on the front end of my 78 Silverado, my 15 inch rims now scrape in somewhat tight turns.  I wouldn't mind going to 16's (tire guys suggestion) but don't have the $$ for rims and tires right now.  Is there anything wrong with either grinding a bit on the control arm lip or putting a 1/4 to 1/2 inch spacer behind the wheel.  I would only use a spacer if there was enough threads on the lugs to safely do so.  Also finding 16" 5 hole rally with a 3-3/4 inch backspace isn't looking to easy, anyone have any sources with that?
Thanks in advance,

I generally grind them where they hit.
