Is there a way...
« on: July 10, 2009, 05:43:28 pm »
You know how you can click "Profile" and then "Show posts" and see all the threads that you have posted in? Well im sure we all find this very useful for getting our replies, and replying to other people. Well it would be great if every thread that you started, or replied to was only listed once under "Show posts". Just to look at a week ago i have to read through several pages of "Show posts" to find one thread. And that one may be buried in a page of long lists of the same thread/s. So is there a way to get the "Show posts" function to only show each thread 1 time? Not list every single time that I posted in that thread? I think this would be awesome and make things a lot easier. What got me thinking about this is that the new replies (from other people) don't always get bumped straight up to the top of the list. I was browsing my list the other day and i went a few pages back to some threads from a couple weeks ago and I found that I had replies that were very helpful, that I have never even seen.

You can use the search function and narrow it by date
,                           ___
                         /  _ _ _\_
              ⌠ŻŻŻŻŻ'   [☼===☼]

Are you only wanting to look at your posts?
You can go to profile and at the bottom it says show latest post by user.

No you know how under Profile-->Show Posts it will show all your posts? Well if you posted more than once in a particular thread, it lists the thread as many times as you posted in that thread. It shows you every message in that you posted in the thread. I would be nice if it only listed it one time, so you didn't have to scroll through pages of threads/posts just to find one small thread that may be greatly obscured by all the other threads that ran for 2 or more pages. If a thread gets to be 4 or 5 pages long, it starts taking up a lot more room under "show posts". Granted, that's only if you posted in that thread a lot, but most of us do. So i think that any thread should only be allowed to show up one time when you go to your profile, and click "Show posts". It would make it a heck of a lot easier to keep up with small, obscure, yet important threads. Important at least, to the people who started them, or who may have posted in them.

For example when i click "show posts", i see

Which is bumping all the other threads I want to keep track of far down the list and some that i only posted in once get buried and are difficult to locate. Though i may have really wanted to continue that thread at a later date, due to paychecks coming in and parts acquired.

The forum shows all posts by user in your profile, there is not way to tell it not to show all of your posts.  You can always subscripe to the thread and get a notice on any new replies.
