Oh, and let me mention that this car has NEVER BEEN REGISTERED OR TITLED AND ONLY HAD 1,700 MILES!!! http://www.moparmusclemagazine.com/featuredvehicles/mopp_0002_1969_dodge_charger_hemi_500/index.html
Wow! $5k in '89. '89 was the year I bought my '65 GT Mustang Convertible and I paid $7k for it!! I have a few more miles on it than the Hemi (i took it off the road in the early '90's and she's been in my garage ever since), but still 99% original from the original owner. I can imagine them both at Barrett-Jackson, the Hemi; sold $400k. My mustang? not exactly 1 of 392 like the '69 Charger 500, even though they made only 1900 GT convertibles in '65, no where in the same universe. There's something about the year '69. I love the '69 Camaro. My favorite car ever has been the '69 Boss 429 Mustang--which, like the '69 Charger 500 was built for NASCAR, as was the '70 Boss 429. They had to make and sell 500 to the general public as per NASCAR rules to qualify as a "production" car. Those things are so beautiful. I'd remortgage my house, sell my convertibe, suburban and pickup to find a fixer upper of one of those. Great story. I like those things. Too bad you didn't have your camera, but, I bet you could go to any annual Hemi show and see it. http://pettysuperbird.com/http://www.superbirdclub.com/pettyjunk.htmlhttp://racingwin.com/petty-blue-plymouth-superbird/http://moparmuscle.automotive.com/112059/mopp-0908-1970-plymouth-road-runner-superbird/index.html
I believe it only said that the buyer offered $5,000 less than the agreed price.
