oil filler on chrome valve covers

my stock valve covers have the oil filler tube in the cover...i just got some chrome valve covers (thanks to donut) but they dont have a spot to put oil in....is there another place i can put the oil in or would i have to take the valve cover off every time i wanted to add oil or change it?

Put it in the PCV hole.

They are a classic example of people wanting to over accessorize their rides and they are ugly to me. I see so many of these trucks that are gorgeous and then have a baseball hat on them and it just ruins it for me. So I am on an anti-Lund Visor kick until I get it out of my system.

You can always drill a hole in the cover too, especially if you need a breather.. Of course you need to remove the cover first, drill a 1 1/4 hole, and clean up the burr before reinstall. Auto parts stores and catalogues carry a grommet seal and breather for the hole you drill.   if you want to that is.

I hate visors too. just wanted to get it out there. thank you vile for your work to rid the world of this horrible idea. After the visors are gone maybe the silly chrome little pieces like door/tailgate  handles and  gas caps ect as a start.  I hope i didn't offend anyone; just not my bag.

i dont hate visors but if i found one cheap enough or could get one for free i would take put it on my truck but i dont think theyre worth the $400 (i think thats the average cost of them but not sure)

Yes, as Vile said, the pcv valve hole is perfect, just keep a small funnel in your wheelwell under your hood.  And Don is correct too, worse case scenario, just drill one and use a rubber grommet. 

And if those scenarios don't work for you, just don't put oil in it and it wouldn't be a problem for too long.

i like how that front roll pan thing on the pink truck looks...i would never put one on my truck cause i would rather have an actual bumper but i think it looks good

On those semi-chrome covers I used to pull the breather and use a funnel (like SgtDel said) I would have tossed that in to, but it kinda dislodged and melted when I broke in the new cam

on my alum. covers i pull the breather cap off and then remove the rubber grommet and its perfect size

Yup you need a breather on the right and the pvc goes on the left (drivers side) No breather engine will leak.

Interesting. I have never heard that the pcv has to go on drivers side and breather on the pass. Why? Mine is the opposite after engine rebuilder put them back on. I had it the way you described before rebuild. How could it make any difference which side they are on? Just curious!
