a/c brackets for hooker headers?

i bought a set of full length hooker headers and it came with some extra brackets, however they don't seem to want to bolt up properly to my vortec heads with stock brackets. its an 86 chev with a new crate from blue print engines (383). the picture doesn't seem to help much. has anybody done this intsall? i've been grinding away trying to get something to work. but i am getting frustrated. we already modified the stock alt bracket to make it work. thanks for any help. pictures would be much appreciated.

i decided i should check my other truck to see how it worked, and the brackets were much different, and did not connect anywhere on the headers, so i guess i'm off to the wreckers to see if i can find something similar. i'll let everyone know if it doesn't work out. its all i need to finish my engine drop in project that i've been working on since may!
