tranny trouble
« on: September 23, 2009, 07:42:42 pm »
Here's the deal: I got a '79 C10 awhile back and at the time it ran somewhat rough and the tranny shifted fine. Lately the engine started running rougher and rougher. My brother took the pickup to his autos class at the tech and they looked it over and found the problem to be mismatched plug wires and the Accel ignition setup. they replaced the cap, rotor, plug wires...etc with stock parts and junked the accel setup. runs great now, but now the tranny isn't shiftin/shiftin right. it shifts sometimes and i also got it to shift if i ran through the gears manually. any ideas? its a C10, 305/350 combo.
Are you just gonna lay there and bleed or are you gonna cowboy up?

They probably knocked the vacuum hose off to the modulator.

That or caused it to leak, its located behind the carb and in front of the distubtor. Steel line with a short piece of hose conecting the line to a fitting at the top of the intake.
