scored some doors, lets talk about them...

so i finally found some good doors for my 82. They are from a suburban, and are full power, so they have 4 switches for the windows. I was thinking after i picked them up "what could i use the extra 2 switches for?". I have no idea what they could be used for. maybe an on/off switch for some aux lights? I have a plow mount on the front, but have to switch to the plow lights manually under the hood, so maybe i could hook them up to the extra window switches somehow?? anyway, i am open to suggestions for use of these switches, lets hear them!!..
only other thing i wanted to talk about was painting them. I am going to be painting the entire truck at some point, but i figured while they are off the truck i could do the jamb's, etc. This is going to be a street legal plow/woods truck, so i am looking for a tough, durable paint job. doesn't have to be show quality, just easy to touch up and tough to scratch. any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!
thanks
phil

Set up some heated mirrors and have them on the window switches?

Are you sure they are not for the power locks?

i kinda like the vibrating seats
not sure how i would go about setting up heated mirrors, but that is a great idea.
I am positive they are not for the power locks, there is a single switch for them.
Can these switches be used for something to just switch it on and off? or is there only power while the switch is depressed? it doesnt really bother me that there would be 2 basically useless switches on the drivers door, but if there is something that they can be used for, i would like to do it!!

they are momentary switches so they cant be to turn something on/off just temporary on/off maybe a horn, flashing light i would run a relay tho for that

i think one may be the switch for my train horns!!
not really, but that would be cool.
i kinda thought they were momentary, which stinks in terms of using them as an on/off switch. There has to be some cool little gadget i can use them for though, just have to figure out what...

Use them to fire missiles at snow banks instead of using it as a plow truck. Just kidding. Rig one up for a power antannae and volume control for the other. Why not use sray on bed liner for your door jambs?

I like the power antenna and volume control idea. how would you go about using one of these switches for volume control? I was going to buy a new head unit for the truck, is external volume control an option on some head units??
i was thinking of spray on bedliner the whole truck. I recently discovered the u-pol raptor system and kinda like it. I wish i could get it smoother though, it seems to rough (texture wise) to use as a whole truck paint. my other thought was to use the bedliner for the lower 16" of the truck all the way around.

Using bed liner for the lower 16" will probably look good, doing the whole truck IMO, wont look "bad", even with a heavy texture, but its not going to have a real classy appearance, it would be more of a rugged, climb on the truck as a makeshift ladder kind of look.
As for uses for the switches, a horn is a viable option, a power antenna lead isn't as most power antennas are set up to retract when they lose their trigger power. Nor is volume control a viable option, unless you would be comfortable soldering on the board of your new head unit, taking into consideration there probably wouldn't be a resource to tell you what you would need to do. My vote would be for a horn, and, depending on the nature of your plow setup, they could be wired as the trigger switches to control your plow. My dad's plow truck has an ancient meyer plow that uses a ford starter solenoid to trigger the pump to lift the blade, and a PTO/choke cable to drop the blade. Turning the blade to one side or another requires getting out, pulling out a pin and manually tilting the blade in the direction you want to go, then replacing the pin.
