Captkaos - 1987 Hinge pins
« on: October 19, 2009, 12:58:53 pm »
Hi Capt,

I noticed on one of your posts you mentioned replacing hinge pins on a 1987 pick-up without removing the doors. Can you give me any pointers? I would rather not remove the doors and risk skinning up original paint.

Thanks!

Just pins or pins AND bushings?
Put a jack under the door and remove them one at a time.

It seems to make sense to replace both. Will the process work for either?

How does the top pin come out? Looks like it would hit the door shell?

Ran into the same problem with the top pin on mine. No way I could get it out with the door still on.
