I would agree with this. If the filter is being restrictive, the sender before the filter will read higher. That all said, where is the sender? Up or downstream of the filter, and up or downstream of the pump?

Mechanical gauge tapped into the port by the oil filter on my 89 k2500 dd. At the distributor port on my other trucks. Ac delco filters raise the oil pressure on all of my trucks.
