If the pressure sender is before the filter in the flow of oil, and you are getting more pressure on the gauge, that means the filter is flowing less. If the sender is after the filter and you are getting more pressure on your gauge then the filter is flowing more.


I would agree with this. If the filter is being restrictive, the sender before the filter will read higher. That all said, where is the sender? Up or downstream of the filter, and up or downstream of the pump?

Mechanical gauge tapped into the port by the oil filter on my 89 k2500 dd. At the distributor port on my other trucks. Ac delco filters raise the oil pressure on all of my trucks.
