transmission gauge

i have a 1980 cc dually 454 with the 3speed auto tranny
i want to installl a trans gauge in to it i cant seem to find out any info on installing
any help would be great

Just mount the temp sensor in the pan. If you don't have a pan with a drain plug either install one or buy a different pan.

I got one from B&M and It's all electrical. It's got a sensor that you rig a TEE up to the lower (return??) line up to, then you need a power and a ground.

i was looking at my transmission and on the driver side it look like there is a sensor with one wire going to it what is that for ?
is this what you installed?

what does that do?
can i replace that with a temp sensor
on the other side there is two tranmission lines going to the cooler and there is another metal line going to it almost look like a oil pressure gauge can you tell me what that is?

No pics as of now... my trucks at the shop. But that is the gauge that installed. I have a 700R4 in my truck so I dunno what your third line is.

it is a 400 and i bet its a vacuum line
is there a "cap" or something like that i can take out and install a sensor?

ive been reading about the differnts in placement of the tranny temp sender and the installation i think im leaning more toward the one from summit it look like an easy install and something i can do with out haveing to drain the tranny fluid out (which i prob need to do anyways and change the filter) here are some other thread ive been reading (sorry there are from diff site but very useful infor
