Carb to TBI swap questions.
« on: November 21, 2009, 08:15:46 am »
I got a few diagrams from the library today and have a few questions base on the harnes I have and the diagrams I found.I couldnt find an exact match so Im trying to eliminate some stuff base on colorcodes and the pinout info I have.
1. If the knock sensor goes directly to the PCM,does this mean I will not have a ESC module?
2.What transmission stuff do I need to keep? I have a 350c I will be using.
3. Which speed sensor wire do I use and where does it go? VSS input or VSS Buffer signal
4. So far I have sorted out the TPS,IAC,Injectors,Coolant temp,O2,MAP,Oil press switch and Knock sensors,Fuel pump relay and ignition.Did I miss anything?I have sorted out a few wires Im not sure I will be needing like the A/C signal and brake signal wires.

Your best bet is gonna be a painless wiring kit.  If you want detailed diagrams of the tbi setup, I can fax them or mail them to you.

How many threads on this have you started? One thread would be nice so everyone can follow along and help you. I tried to help you.

I keep merging all of your threads, but you keep making new ones.  It would be nice if you stayed in the same thread with all the questions.

Sorry to mess up your forum, but maybe if you guys would read the my posts they are for two different vehicles with two different ECUs. I know you two know it alls ( VileZambonie and Captkaos) are gonna tell me they are the same but they are not.On one post I needed the pinouts for one ECU and on the other I needed a wiring diagram for another ECU so you merged "ALL" my posts,ALL 2 of them.VileZambonie,I do very much appreciate your effort but the pinouts you got me were way wrong and I left it at that because I found the right pinouts before I got a chance to check back with this forum a day or two later. You got me a 24 pin connector and a wrong 32 pin connector. But I still thank you. I figured out the harness anyways on my own. Ill use another site. Thanks

As far as quitting the site, that's between you (mostly you) and the admin (Chris).   i personally, don't think you have to quit;  You've got bigger problems to contend with---namely figuring out how to get your rig running.

But enough preaching:

2) i think i can PM you a site where the guy painstakingly when thru (thru process of elimination and exploration) almost all the steps to get a setup like this running.  i can't PM it to you right now because i got to go to work soon, but this long weekend i will have more time.   He's got diagrams and everything.

3) Again, it is because of reasons like this---namely the excruciating amount of time and effort needed to get an EFI system working (and with at most 1-2 mpg improvement) is why i've decided to, without regret, stay with carburetion for the next foreseeable future.

i was able to get my "new" engine running about 15mins after bolting the reman 2G on.  It's still a little rough after startup, but the truck RUNS.  And quite well after warmup.

I posted exactly what you asked for and then you proceeded to spaz on me in another thread. Then you apologize, then you start spamming the board with multiple posts so noone can follow one thread. I stopped helping you because you were ungrateful and rude. This "Know it all" knew better than to waste my time with a non contributor who's just here for himself and has no problem being rude to people who try to help him.
