383 stroker build

this motor is getting built 4 me while im on vacation!


Engine: 383 stroker build
forged eagle crank internally balanced
forged eagle h-beam rods
forged SRP pistons
roller tip rocker arms (long slot)
high pressure(not volume)oil pump
edelbrock rpm performer heads (aluminum)
edelbrock rpm performer air gap intake(aluminum)
540 lift comp cam
rhoades lifters
edelbrock 750 carb w/electric choke.
Main and rod bearings
Camshaft bearings
Plasma moly rings
New arp main rod and head bolts
Probably more that im forgetting to list!

Transmission:
700r rebuilt with all new parts (beefed up)
has mild shift kit
2500 stall converter and new dip stick and speedo cable.

Rear end:
411 gears
all new seals, gaskets, bearings and shims. all parts are gm and new.

Nice build! Should be a stout bottom end. Maybe a hit of N2O on down the road ;)? Either way, hope you enjoy your new found power and be sure post your thoughts on it when you get it up and running.

Wow, sounds like an awesome driveline! Can I ask what the ballpark budget figure would be on that? You are going to have a completely new animal when all that is done!
85 Chevy Silverado C10 short, wide, yellow, 2wd. Lowered, 60-over 350 with Dart Iron Eagle heads and Comp Cams XE268 cam, TH350 w/ shift kit, 3.40 Gov-lok 12 bolt.

the torque of a 383 added to 4.11 gears.  I have one thing to say....

sounds liek a ~500hp motor... going to need just short of a max effoer 700 for long term realibilty...

just have a 700r4 get busted up with a 454bbc that dynoed 250/400 at the tires...

sounds like a nice moter

had a problem with some parts getting shipped to the wrong place......motor tranny and rear will be done by this weekend...i hope!

My Two cents...Too much gear, unless you have really BIG tires. Sounds like a good, powerful engine! Lorne

Ah c'mon.  You can't have too much gear...you gotta have fun with spinning tires often.  Besides, I don't think he needs to go 200mph.  Now, if there is a lot of interstate driving, I agree, you don't want to be taching 4800 rpms to go 65mph.
