Just swap the axles from one to the other.

So they units are the same size....good.Can I just bolt it it and keep it 6-lug with no problems?
Then of course I would want 6-lug up front....can I just buy 6-lug rotors somewhere?
I have a 4x4 Jimmy for parts and am not sure of the interchangibility of 4x4 to 2WD
thanks for the help

Why not just swap the axles? It's easy enough. Why are you changing the reae end?

Whats involved in swapping axle's?
Jimmy has a posi rear 3:73
I had bought a 10 bolt 5-lug posi for $75 that I was going to use
but someone offered me $350 for it so I sold it
My truck now has a open rear wth 3:08

Remove the wheels and brake drums, remove the meatball cover, remove the pin bolt and differential pinion shaft. Push the axles in and remove the c-clips, then slide them out.

Sounds easy enough , does it involve messing with the gears or shims or anything affecting the performance of the posi unit?
On the opposite end can I easily change the front fotors for 6-bolt as I have to do my front wheel bearing and brakes anyways?
thanks for the help

As far as I know no one offers 6 lug rotors for the two wheel drive trucks. As far as the rear goes the axles have nothing to do with the shimming of the ring and pinion, or the posi unit other then being driven from them.

Would front rotors from a 88-up 3/4 ton 2wd bolt on ? They are 6 lug.

Happy Thanksgiving USA from Canada
Thanks for the link , can I use my orginal calipars with that rotor?
Also wondering if there is a
off the shelf 6-lug rotor that will work?
Or if anyone knows of a Canadian parts place to order from?
Still not sure what to do but since I need wheel bearings up front....
