Transmission Lines

I'm gonna need new Transmission cooling lines for my Th-400.

I'm looking at    and Classic tube... Any better new sources?  

I've got experience bending and flaring my own, but not sure I want to go that route.  I'm getting antsy to drive this beast.

If I do decide to bend my own should I just go with standard mild steel or try Stainless?  

Old ones were good for 20 years and would have lived longer if they didn't get bent up so bad by the previous owner.

iirc the adpater are 3/8" NPT into the case get some AN fiting and either braided line ore push lock hose... run it to the coller and back..

line pressure can hit sustained 200psi on a healthy th400

I personally like the green coated ones from AutoZone.  Easy job and I have seen the bent one come in damaged so I always bend my own.

ANd what does Classic tube mean when they say:

CT1086 1982-87 3/4 & 1 Ton 4WD Longbed - Camper Special
w/Load Sensor W/5" Offset 189.00 209.00


CT1087 1982-87 3/4 & 1 Ton 4WD Power Disc - W/Load Sensor
with 1" Offset Bracket 189.00 209.00




Obviously if I'm in the $200 rangle for trans cooler lines, I'll be bending my own.

Just very curious about this offset described above

zieg85, are the green lines your talking about universal? I dont think Ive seen those at autozone.

Hmmm ~ Had not thought of AN fittings and braided lines.  

@ $200 per set for classic tube's 1-ton lines  /  I could probally afford a nice set of braided with anodized fittings...




Auto Zone Green = Bulk legnth    bend up your own     (I'll check it out).

You can buy already flared steel brake lines or the coated ones at any decent autoparts store. Bend em up and screw em in.

They are in the back, I always go back with an assistant to match up what I need for lengths and couplers.
